Folks, I'm excited to announce that iFAX has recently signed a colocation agreement with Sungard Availability Services (http://availability.sungard.com/) which will allow us to dramatically improve the resilience and performance of every aspect of the hylafax.org services, including the website, bug tracking database, CVS repository, mailing lists and wiki. The hardware is already in place, and we will shortly be starting to move services from our current setup to this new platform. The good news is that this will give us an opportunity to step back and take a fresh look at the website (which is far too dated for such a cool project!), update the underlying software that powers it all, and add features that the community may find useful. We're eager to hear from you - please tell us what you think hylafax.org is lacking, and we'll see what we can do to correct that! If you would like to offer suggestions, please do so by emailing me directly to avoid cross-posting confusion and mailing list clutter on a topic that may not interest many. If there's enough interest we can create a separate mailing list for people to exchange ideas, but for now I'd like to act as scribe and secretary, and work with our web team to help decide what is practical for us to accomplish in a reasonable timeframe. iFAX is committed to funding this work whether our web team actually does all of the work or not, so if you think you'd like to get paid to design and/or hack on a new hylafax.org website, we're interested in hearing from you! -Darren -- Darren Nickerson Senior Sales & Support Engineer iFAX Solutions, Inc. www.ifax.com [email protected] +1.215.438.4638 x8106 +1.215.243.8335 (fax) ____________________ HylaFAX(tm) Announce Mailing List _______________________ To subscribe/unsubscribe, click http://lists.hylafax.org/cgi-bin/lsg2.cgi On UNIX: mail -s unsubscribe [email protected] < /dev/null
