When you receive a FAX, a script named faxrcvd is invoked. You should
be able to find the complete command line in /var/log/syslog. If it's
not there, just change /etc/hylafax/config.* with ServerTracing 0xfff
and restart hylafax.

Once you have that line, try to execute it manually from
/var/spool/hylafax. It will probably write some error message.
Otherwise, since the faxrcvd is a shell script, you may execute it with
"sh -x" and see exactly what it does.
