Chances are that your USR modem is exhibiting some problem due to a misconfiguration. USR modems are a bit quirky and can require unique configurations. The 5686G model number seems to be a new one for us, and maybe you ended up with a bad modem config file. Probably what you want is something close to this: https://sourceforge.net/p/hylafax/HylaFAX+/HEAD/tree/trunk/config/usr-xon However, if that doesn't work for you please post the output of 'probemodem' against your modem. If you really want to try HylaFAX+ then you can get it from EPEL: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL After EPEL is enabled then you'd 'yum install hylafax+'. But, again, I don't think that you should look to that as a resolution for the problem you're having. Thanks, Lee.
