You can adjust that timeout by adjusting "ModemDialResponseTimeout" in 
your modem config file. "ModemDialResponseTimeout" should always be 
configured to be longer than the wait time represented in the 
"ModemWaitTimeCmd" setting.  By default the former is a 3-minute timeout 
and the latter is a 60-second timeout.

However, I'm guessing that there is a bug in the firmware of your 
Davicom modem that is leading it to not detect the CED or V.21 HDLC from 
the receiver (FaxLab, apparently).
