Hi,

I'm trying to prepare an article for a Law Journal. This Journals are
notoriously short on space so they try to get pootnotes as compact as
possible. Articles in other Journals are usually only cited

authorlastname, journal, year, page.

Since journal, year, page should be enough to locate the publication.

Other resources,, especially obscure books and websites need more
information. But even there we need not the full information as it
would be used in a bibliography. For e.g. book author, title, year, and
ISBN would be enough.

I'm trying to get jurabib acting like this - at least partwise.

At the moment I use:

\usepackage[%
      commabeforerest,%
      authorformat=italic,%
      pages=test,%
      lookat,%
      ibidem=strict,%
      idem=strict,%
]{jurabib}

\citetitlefortype{article}
\jbfirstcitepageranges

which gets me:

Hoeren; Hornig ZUM 2001, 846–857; Schuhmacher;
Greiner CR 2002, 620–623; Mankowski MMR 2002, 277–
278; Neumann; Spindler/Volkmann K&R 2002, 398–409;
Stader MMR 2002, 343–347; Stadler Haftung für Informationen
im Internet; Ders. Sperrungsanordnungen gegen-
über Access-Providern; Vassilaki TKMR 2002, 427; Engel
MMR Beilage 4 2003, 1–34; Rosenkranz JurPC 2003,
Web–Dok. 16/2003; Ders. JurPC 2003,Web–Dok. 88/2003;
Schreier MMR 2003, 297–298; Spindler/Volkmann MMR
2003, 353–354; Stadler MMR 2003, 208–211; Ders. Der Widerspruchsbescheid
zur Düsseldorfer Sperrungsverfügung;
Vassilaki CR 2003, 367–368; Wettig JurPc 2003,Web–Dok.
124/2003.

If I now start using \fullcite for the non-articles I loos the nifty
lookat mechanism and have to keep track myself of changing the first
occurence for every cite to be a \fullcite - ugly.

Si I tried to implement a citefull=firstbutnotforarticle. The idea was
to patch something into the actual cite implementation (citex ?) like
this:

if type == article and citefull=firstbutnotforarticle:
     switchCiteFullFlagTemporaryOff

do cite stuff

if  switchCiteFullFlagTemporaryOff was used:
    switchCiteFullFlagOn

But I was losst again in the TeX sourcecode.

Any hints on how to get this effect? (no, not the effect of getting
lost in sourcecode)

Max
