Jurabib stuck in Italian mode

Can anyone tell me how to convince Jurabib to abandon the Italian mode
and switch back to English for all its language-related strings?

I am using LyX and have the following in my preamble

\usepackage[greek,german, french, italian, english]{babel}
\languageattribute{greek}{polutoniko}
\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
\usepackage[oxford=true]{jurabib}
\jurabibsetup{
      authorformat=and,
      titleformat=italic,
      citefull=first
}
\renewcommand{\bibapifont}[1]{``#1''}

 From the documentation, I gather that the last language option to the
Babel package sets Jurabib's language as well. This does not seem to be
happening, though. I have English last, but I still get all the strings
in Italian. I did not change, BTW, the jurabib.cfg file from the
original that came with the installation.

Any suggestions?

Stefano
