Changing in: to in for incollection entries using jox

I am using jurabib (current version) with the oxford option and
jox.bst. For @incollection entries, I'm getting 'in: ' between the
chapter/article title and the collection/book title. I would like to
change this to just 'in ' with no colon.
I searched the archive and found this as a possibility:
... use package and \bibliography style commands ...
\renewcommand*{\bibbtsep}{in }
However, that doesn't seem to work--there are no errors or warnings
when building the document, but the bibliography still uses 'in: ' and
not 'in '.
I found another post in the archive that suggests there might be a
problem using this technique when one has more than one citation from
the same collection? Is that true? If so, is there any way to work
around that?
Also, is there a list of all the various commands one can renew in
order to adjust various aspects of the bib formatting? I have read
over the jurabib documentation file, and it does mention some of them
scattered throughout the text, but I'm wondering if there's a full
list of all of them somewhere.
thanks,
