The exact same LaTeX file works great when I used XeLaTeX + BibTeX + 
Jurabib, but fails when I replace XeLaTeX with pdfLaTeX. The complaint 
is about the need for PrerenderUnicode.

Since the same BibTeX program is called in both scenarios, isn't it 
likely that the problem is elsewhere?
