Yes it's blindness: option "authorformat=and" should solve your problems.
It is on top of page 11 of the english documentation. If not look at the
following redefinitions. This is helpful if you don't want the "and" but
for instance something like that: \&.
%new definition for the separation of authors
\renewcommand*{\jbbtasep}{ and }%
\renewcommand*{\jbbfsasep}{, }%
\renewcommand*{\jbbstasep}{ and }%
\renewcommand*{\bibbtasep}{ and }%
\renewcommand*{\bibbfsasep}{, }%
\renewcommand*{\bibbstasep}{ and }%
%new definition for the separation of editors
\renewcommand*{\bibbtesep}{ and }%
\renewcommand*{\bibbfsesep}{, }%
