Hack citefull=first

Dear Group,
I have a question which concerns a possible hack for citefull=first....
Is it possible to change the citefull=first option (i guess just by
hacking) so that it gives a "full quote" for the first citation, but
without the series field? Of course the series field should still be
given in the Bibliography. How would that have to be done?
