Dynamic Shorttitle Format

Hi,
I got a question. I know that with \renewcommand*{\jbtitlefont}{\textit}
it is possible to change the font attributes of the Short title... But
is there a possibility to have a italic Short title for Monographic
works, and a normal short title for articles and essays? I guess this
may just be possible by hacking, right? Any ideas?
