Hello. There was a thread on MLA and jurabib on the German tex mailing list
lately. I think, it solves some of your problem.

For formatting in a different way the bibliography and from master Jens

This one is easy. Redefines footnote like that :

\renewcommand*{\footnote}[1}{\footnote{#1.}}
