What did you do.
1) You have to copy the jurabib.bst file to for example mla.bst
2) Open the bst file and add the first function
3) modify the book function (at the end of the file)

4) Copy the end of Jens mail in your preamble, change the biographystyle to
mla
5) Rerun latex, bibtex, latex

For Jens : in the jurabib.bst what is the difference between the output
function and the output.check...
