Well, currently the default font IS specified as f6 in the first line of 
the rtf output which reads:
{\rtf1\ansi\deff6\deflang1024
however some software seems not to honor this but expects the default font 
to be specified explicitly in the text section.

I had no problem with this yet. But I wonder why the order is like that, in 
spite of the different order in style.cfg. Up to then I had in my mind that 
latex2rtf simply copies the contents of style.cfg to the rtf output.

I uploaded to CVS the old version as fonts.cfg and the version with the MS 
Windows font names as fonts_pc.cfg with (hopefully enough) additional 
explanation in these files.
