textwidth and textheight

Hello,

First thanks for all your work on latex2rtf -- it really makes my life
much more pleasant when journals/conferences require submissions in word
format.

I've encountered a couple of problems with latex2rtf 1.9.16 (Fri Mar 19
12:36:47 2004) from CVS on redhat9.

First, setting the textwidth with e.g.,

\setlength{\textwidth}{16 true cm}

produces output which leads word97 and openoffice interpret as having each
character on a new line.

Second, setting the textheight with e.g,

\setlength{\textheight}{24 true cm}

produces output which crashes both word97 and openoffice.

Here is a simple test case:

\documentclass[]{article}

\setlength{\textwidth}{16 true cm}
\setlength{\textheight}{24 true cm}

\begin{document}

LaTeX2RTF is a translator program from LaTeX text into "rich text
format" files. These files are commonly referred to as RTF files. RTF
is a published standard format by Microsoft. This standard can be
ambiguous in places and Microsoft ignores parts of the standard it
finds inconvenient, but RTF is widely used by many WYSIWIG text
editors and is supported by Microsoft Word and most text processors.
