That is strange. If I open an rtf file generated by latex2rtf, it is 
typeset in Times New Roman.
So, please, specify
- the latex2rtf version by which the rtf file was generated, and the 
operating system under which it is run,
- the program (and its version) with which the rtf file is opened, and the 
operating system under which it is run.
