Thanks very much for the help. I did get the simple text example to work. It depended on sticking in a [t] into minipage argument. However I could not get the version with the figure to work. Strangely, I could not find a single example of a Prosper presentation with this format of figure on one side and text on the other using minipages. After spending much time on this stupid problem, I just gave up.
