How to overlay figures in Prosper?

Hi All,

I'm just preparing a presentation containing a lot of big figures
(XFig diagrams, and JPEG photos).

I need to overlay this pictures with some additional material, prepared
with XFig (it can be easily done as XFig support JPEG embedding).

Because these figures are BIG, I want to embed them only once into the
resulting PDF file. I suppose, that to achieve it I should place
the "base figure" once, and then overlay it with different "add-ons"
as usual in the overlays environment.

The problem is however that I'm not able to put two EPS figures
on the same place.

I can prepare my figures with all the overlays in XFig, and then
export only selected layers using the "-D" option in fig2dev,

(eg. in this way:
fig2dev -Leps -D+50:100 rys.fig > rys.eps
fig2dev -Leps -D+40,100 rys.fig > rys1.eps
fig2dev -Leps -D+39,100 rys.fig > rys2.eps
fig2dev -Leps -D+38,100 rys.fig > rys3.eps
)

but then I have eg. 300 KB JPEG embedded 10 times in my final file :-(.

Is it possible to embed the big "base figure" only once, and add
only the "overlayed material"?

(Yes I know, it can be done with the PSTricks, but I need to have
the preview feature, so XFig with its layer support is perfect to me.)

		Thank you in advance,
