I did encounter simillar problem (see attached file). After downloading the
newest version from CTAN(1.24, 2002/11/25) and from
SourceForge (1.5, 2001/01/31 - ?!? weird) the problem remains.
Between
first and second overlay there is an unnecessery "shift". I think it is
a problem with \overlay, because two succesive "normal" slides did not "shift".
