paralist with prosper

Hi all,
I've run into a problem trying to use the paralist package with
prosper.
Paralist can redefine the itemize environment so that it takes
an optional argument which specifies the format of the item
label (e.g. \begin{itemize}[$\star$]).
Now this is interfering with prosper's own definition of itemize,
so I get an error message that says (roughly): begin{itemize}
matches with end{raggedright}.
Is there any way to use paralist with prosper? In particular,
does HA-prosper handle this problem?
