Right, the reason why I was confused is that this is a work computer
hence administered by others. They only upgraded to texlive 2004 today
so I thought it would be a new snapshot but, of course, I realise now
that texlive2004 contains the versions of packages from when it
originally came out, i.e. a while back.

I'll see how I can update these packages for my own installation since,
as I said above, I'm not admin on this computer system. It should be
easier at home.
