Hello,

I'm writing to report an issue I'm experiencing with

sudo tlmgr update --self --all

this morning. When I run the command, I get the following error:

First directive needs to be 'name', not <!doctype html><html
lang="en"><head><title>Oh noes!</title><link rel="stylesheet"
href="/.within.website/x/xess/xess.min.css?cachebuster=1.22.0"><meta
name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"><meta
name="robots" content="noindex,nofollow"><style> at
/usr/local/texlive/2025/tlpkg/TeXLive/TLPOBJ.pm line 106, <$retfh> line 1.

I'm using TexLive 2025 on a Linux system.

Could this be a general issue, or is it likely a problem on my end? Any
guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and help.
