larm (etc.) is an open-ended set of fonts. But TL could distribute the
"most common" couple of dozen or whatever, which would usually suffice.
Can you easily tell from arxiv data which ones we should provide?

TL does distribute pre-made tfm's for most other Metafont fonts, like
wncyr.

I think the main other set of fonts without tfms is sauter, for
the same reason of being open-ended, but I think that is hardly ever
used nowadays.

    fontspec probably should remember that it tried to load it already once
    without success.
