Philip, are you familiar with the expression "Eternal September", as it
relates to netnews?  If not, I don't know if you would prefer to look it up
or for me to take a stab at explaining it.

In any case, I wasn't trying to connect programming neophytes with anything
Knuthian; rather, I was trying to connect the idea of "people who don't know
netnews etiquette and blunder into the wrong newsgroups asking off-topic
questions" with Alois' report of comp.programming,literate disruptions.

Is that clearer?
