Thanks Bruno. I think that was left over from past days.  As far as I
can tell, install-tl itself does not use the gui by default on any
platform. Rather, install-tl-windows passes it the -gui option.
I updated https://tug.org/texlive/pretest.html accordingly, as best I could.
