Run this document with pdflatex:

\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
abc
\end{document}

Then open the log-file. At the end it will mention a pdftex.map.

Run on the command line in some folder

updmap --verbose >updmap.log

Open updmap.log. 

Check if updmap use ascii.map and check if it write the pdftex.map
your document did use.
