I'm woried with the behavior of the latest updates I've made. They're giving me a lot of headacks. I', having the same probleme related here, probably I will stop making updates, until I have another computer only for testing updates, they're becoming untrustfull. I recommend MikTex to integrate a new function to permit after an update, to mantain the previous packages for a selectable period of time, and let the user to revert to it if he detects any problem. It shoud be good if a function to passivate a package without uninstalling it be developed. I had problems with this in the past.
