Dear Ulrike, thank you for the information, but sorry, on my computer this doesn't work. I have installed the actual portable branch of MiKTeX 2.9. After your command, an editor pops up with the file '../miktex/config/pdflatex.ini'. The content of the file is not a capacity definition but search pathes and those things. I edit this file with the additional lines 'dest-names-size=1000000' and 'extra_mem_top=1000000'. After entering 'initexmf --dump=pdflatex' and starting my test file with 'pdftex "&pdflatex" test' or 'pdflatex test' I found no changes of the capacities in the log file. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for your help. Reinhard Jahraus > Hello, > > I use "pdftex" under MiKTeX 2.9 and must increase some runtime > parameters (for example dest_names_size ) . I want to do it with a > configuration file. How can I do this? You can run on the command line e.g. initexmf --edit-config-file pdflatex This will open a local version of the relevant ini-file. You can add your values there. Then recreate the formats. You must do this for every format (latex, lualatex, pdflatex etc) where you want to change the values. -- Ulrike Fischer ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF email is sponsosred by: Try Windows Azure free for 90 days Click Here http://p.sf.net/sfu/sfd2d-msazure
