Re: Help on Installing Y&Y Times and Lucida

Look at the MikTeX manual (miktex.pdf) especially Chapter 5 Advanced
Topics. I spent a fair amount of time deciphering the instructions to get
these fonts to work when I upgraded from MikTeX 2.3 or something a long
while ago. The procedure stills work for MikTeX 2.9 on Windows 7. In fact,
the installation is much simpler and easier than the earlier ones (MikTeX
2.3 or something).

I jotted down some notes for myself on Windows XP and then Windows 7 (see
attached). I put all my private fonts in D:\LOCALTEXMF, my user name is
USER1, and rclick means right click. For Lucida, I don't have to do
anything other than telling TeX where to find the fonts. For Times, I need
to do one additional step to tell TeX to use Adobe Times instead of the
default URW Times (no particular reasons other than I'm used to it).
