Probably since your trying to achieve something that isn't intended.
SW is a typesetting system that uses TeX (in fact the True TeX
distribution) as backend. It uses the binaries that are needed to compile
the source files created within SW. SW isn't a TeX editor that is intended
to open an arbitrary TeX file and compile it. That's far beyond the scope
of SW.
