MiKTeX 2.7 was released in 2007. The LaTeX formats assume you keep them up-to-date so there is a date check! You can bypass it, see: http://my.opera.com/Michael-Dodl/blog/2011/06/24/latex-disabling-the-5-year-time-bomb

As far as I can see, you should be able to continue through that problem and still build the format, so the issue with beamer is possibly something else. However...

The problem is that MiKTeX 2.7 ceased being supported in 2009 and you can't even download it anymore (see http://miktex.org/releases)

Upgrading to the current version which is MiKTeX 2.9 (http://miktex.org/download).
