Re: DVI to PDF

Well, as others have suggested, presenting a single file which does not work is likely to be more helpful than a number of vague statements which are not specific.

By using pdflatex, you eliminate specific translation problems. I use pdflatex all the time, and have no problems getting it to run

I just moved to a new computer, but did not have this problem on the old one running MikTex and using WinEdit 7 (I checked with WinEdit, but they said the warnings sounded like a MikTex problem)

problems: messages that certain files are missing. It asks if I want to install them. Although I say "yes" it seems like they do not get installed.
