The file names data base

There used to be a simple program to run to update that data base, but I 
have forgotten the magic command.  So I went through start, programs, 
miktex 2.8, maintenance, settings and clicked on refresh FNDB.  No luck; 
it still cannot find the file I just added (which was, for the record, 
xybarr to the directory \miktex 2.8\tex\generic\xypic).  Any advice?
