I don't see any relation there! A question is presented in a "thread" on 
a web page. The reactions to answers are organized as comments. The tags 
are a bonus, which makes it very easy to find related questions and answers.

No need to start a flame war! ;-) But Google does not own the internet - 
until now at least! ;-)

sx offers rss feeds for your favorite tags and inbox notifications for 
comments, which are basically "answers" in newsgroups context. Usually, 
there are upvotes, when there is some kind of action on a question. You 
will see if attention is necessary, when you login to the page.

But i agree, the concepts are different.
