Is there an upper limit to the size of a file, say, a.tex? [SEC=UNOFFICIAL]

I am editing a pretty large file, and my file starts to close down, but it can still be edited on a bigger machine (more space and more rem).

I suspect that there is an upper limit to the size of a tex file.

Any comments and help are greatly appreciated.
