Miktex Installation failled - configuration utility error

Hi there I'm really new to MikTex, I have to write my dissertation using it. I've been using the online version overleaf up until now. Would much appreciate any help - but would maybe need it in simple terms because I don't really know what I'm doing! I installed it earlier to day and when I tried to run a file I'd been sent it came up with this message in the console output: Sorry, but "MiKTeX Configuration Utility" did not succeed. The log file hopefully contains the information to get MiKTeX going again: C:/Users/AnnaliseGrieve/AppData/Local/MiKTeX/2.9/miktex/log/initexmf.log You may want to visit the MiKTeX project page (http://miktex.org), if you need help. Sorry, but C:\Program Files (x86)\MiKTeX 2.9\miktex\bin\miktex-pdftex.exe did not succeed.
