Latest update(s) (Dec 8) touch a *lot* of files, so I was anticipating
several things not working. Install/update went fine -- no problems
there. But, when I try to compile some files, I get the following error
(makes no difference if I compile fromthe command line, or not...).

Command Line:   texify.exe --tex-option=-enable-write18 --src
"C:\Users\egc\Desktop\egc\main\test_demo.tex"
Startup Folder: C:\Users\egc\Desktop\egc\main

This is pdfTeX, Version 3.14159265-2.6-1.40.16 (MiKTeX 2.9 64-bit)
entering extended mode

<bunch of stuff deleted...>

No file test_demo.aux.
! I can't write on file `test_demo.aux'.
\document ...ate \openout \@mainaux \jobname .aux
                                                   \immediate \write
\@mainau...
l.17 \begin{document}

Please type another output file name:

Process has been terminated ...

I'll play around with things, but thought it worth mentioning.
