Do you keep the bibliography as simply a .bib file or as a part of a ref management system?

I cannot imagine that anything involving Adobe reader could affect a bib file.

I hope this is the correct forum for this question.

I have kept a global bibliography

global.bib

 in C:\jblocaltree\bibtex\bib

and call it with  \bibliography{global}

Today, this file can't be found .

The only clue of something strange I did was to update adobe reader when
prompted to do so.

Any thoughts?

John
