Depends on which part of the geometry.  The window size is determined by the
application (xdvi in this case), not the window manager.

Determining the window position is often the job of the window manager.
However, if the application does not specify a position, then some window
managers (e.g., twm) will put the window in the upper left-hand corner
or annoy the user by having him choose the spot.

Do you hate the idea of having xdvi save the window size?
