Re: tetex-base: Why does it depend on texinfo?

Hi Thomas, hi pretesters,

with our Debian packages we just found out that not all formats that are
listed in fmtutil.cnf can be build. This was tested with 2.96.1, of
course, I didn't know of the newest beta.

Some formats are not tried to build (not available, that's o.k.). The
following are tried to build, but fail:

mex-pl, pdfmex-pl

[@Hilmar: cont-cz is built (as opposed to tetex-2.0.2 on Debian)]

Error messages:

fmtutil: attempting to create localized format using pool=tex-pl and tcx=il2-pl.
running `pdfetex -ini  -translate-file=il2-pl -jobname=mex-pl -progname=mex-pl *mex.ini' ...
! pdfetex.pool doesn't match; tangle me again (or fix the path).
Error: `pdfetex -ini -translate-file=il2-pl -jobname=mex-pl -progname=mex-pl *mex.ini' failed

Furthermore, aleph is rebuild every time "fmtutil --missing" is called,
but builds successfully every time (according to the log messages, and
