Hi,
trying to install/setup teTeX packages in batch mode (with some unexpected
problem) shows that tcdialog loops and sucks cpu time if stdin is not a tty.
try:
TERMINFO=/usr/share/terminfo tcdialog --title xxx --yesno text 40 20 < /dev/null
or
TERMINFO=/usr/share/terminfo TERM=vt100 tcdialog --title xxx --yesno text 40 20 < /dev/null
or similar on Linux (for me: suse91).
BTW: why do I need this TERMINFO=/usr/share/terminfo for tcdialog ???
by default I only get the error message
Error opening terminal: xterm.
and here is the tail of strace output:
open("/home/koenig/.dialogrc", O_RDONLY) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
ioctl(1, SNDCTL_TMR_TIMEBASE or TCGETS, {B38400 opost isig icanon echo ...}) = 0
access("/home/koenig/.terminfo/x/xterm", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
access("/usr/local/teTeX/terminfo/x/xterm", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
write(2, "Error opening terminal: xterm.\n", 31Error opening terminal: xterm.
) = 31
exit_group(1) = ?
