Pardon? RH's TeX was nearly always broken -- and this was
constantly noted by the TeX community. RH didn't care, but
shipped "stable" versions from years ago.

And yes, rpms for RH are available -- but not from RH. What more
can the TeX community do? We even do our own "distribution" --
TexLive.

PS: SuSE's record is much better, but not perfect. The personal
    editions come without TeX :-(
