old texhax responses

I am trying to read an old email or two with short tex attachments.
The email is dated approximately  March 10, 2026.
However, on a Mac OS using vi as editor,  I get email responses
saying that I cannot read the attached documents!

Is there something I can do here; or are the email attachments really gone?
