I'm not sure about Emacs/W3, but I know lynx will do the right thing.
And what's about audio devices?  My wild guess is you try to work round
bugs of old browsers.

I don't think the current implementation will produce the right output.

1. HTML 2 predates W3C ;)

2. I know.  I aleady complained in the past and I'll not stop
   continuing the the future.

But that's a minor issue, please don't feel offended!
