Hello Valentino,

There could be two solutions to the issue.

I believe the best solution is for Texinfo to translate the document
words using @documentlanguage instead of the system LANG setting. It's
not trivial. If anyone is knowledgeable about gettext and would like to
work on it, please go for it. Otherwise, I will get to it in time; it
is one of the several Big Problems.

The problem is not limited to HTML. The same issue arises in other
output formats (with variations, of course, like "Menu" being a keyword
in Info, etc.).

I did something similar with texinfo.tex and translated all structure
words (chapter, section, etc.) into italian. If anybody needs it I will
    send you the macro file.

I'm sorry, I don't remember -- were you the one who sent me the
txi-it.tex file? If not, and yours is more complete than the one I
currently have in the distribution, yes, please send it to me.

Karl, any news regarding OOo xml filter?

As I said, I cannot work on this myself. Anyone who is interested is
more than welcome to do so. I'll be happy to merge in changes.

Ciao,
k
