Why not @slanted? Although Werner is of course right that @s is parallel to @b and @r, in this case I think I agree with Thorsten. Using up such a short command name for something so infrequently used seems worse to me than making the command name "un"parallel. So, Werner, can you change it to @slanted, please? A line in the manual explaining the reasoning would be good. "This command name is longer than the other font-change commands because it was invented much later." Or something like that.
