Items of lists associated to different graphics appearing successively at the same place

Dear TeXpower users,

I would like to design a presentation in which slides are divided into two 
parts (left and right, for example). In the first part, there would be a list 
that appears step by step using the (list)stepwise environment and the color 
changing mechanism. In the second part, I would like to have various graphics 
related with the items of the list. Each graphic should appear only when the 
related item is highligted.

Is there an easy way to design such a presentation? Does anybody have some 
examples to share?
