Next time please, please supply a minimal, but complete, example. I really 
don't understand what you are doing. Are you use the color control in texpower? 
Anyway, take a look at my example below.

The last step never becomes inactive - adding an empty step fixes it. See 
the following example:

There is one thing with the example above that annoys me. The distance 
between "Some text" and the list changes between step 1 and 2. This is not 
the case when using the simpler "\liststepwise*{". Is this a bug or I'm 
just slow today?
