[Announcement] tpslifonts v0.5

Hi all,

I'd like to announce that today I have uploaded version 0.5
of the tpslifonts package to the TeXPower cvs repository,
downloadable at

This is the result of a longish rewrite I did to get a 
version which is really useable, incorporating a lot
of stuff in the meantime.

The current version v0.5 is fully functional, with preliminary
documentation in the demo slifontsexample.

The package tpslifonts configures the "SliTeX" fonts for use
in beamer presentations. Special care is given to font selection
optimal for viewing in acrobat reader, and to smooth integration
of different styles of math fonts.

Special features:

* Supports OT1 (base font lcmss) and T1 (base font eclq) font
  encoding.
  
* Supports text and typewriter fonts as well as the following 
  sets of math fonts:
  
  	- cmr (the standard serif math fonts)
  	- euler 
  	- cmbright (sans serif math fonts)

* Supports additional math fonts: 
  ams, latexsym, st mary road, wasy, rsfs, doublestroke.
  
* All supported fonts are configured for "smooth sizing" (in the manner
  of the type1cm package) and with a special design size selection
  geared towards viewing at low resolutions under difficult conditions
  (colored slides, bad lighting) as opposed to printing on a hires printer.
  
* The base font lcmss has a peculiar size ratio between lower case and
  upper case letters, with the purpose of optimizing readability.
  The tpslifonts package offers options for individually scaling all
  supported fonts to get optimal size matching of all involved fonts.

Detailed documentation is lacking at the moment, but there is a 
demonstration document consisting of the files
	
	slifontsexample.tex
	__TPslifonts.tex
	
where samples of all supported fonts are given as well as largish
math examples (for judging the harmony provided by different 
configuration variants) and character tables for fine-tuning scaling
parameters.

Please look closely at the file slifontsexample.tex; you'll find
the opportunity of testing essentially all configuration variants
by simply commenting in or out the parameter settings prepared and
commented there.

(The configuration in the version uploaded is rather high end;
you'll need a lot of special packages and fonts [cmbright type1
fonts, for instance] to fully appreciate it. Just load slifontsexample
and comment out things (as instructed there) until the configuration
meets your own setup.)

I've tried to thoroughly test all possible configuration variants,
so I hope there won't any severe bugs be found any more, but of
course I'll appreciate any comments and suggestions for improvement.
