Same here (strange error messages from acrobat).

But this is independent of the use of texpower (i.e. the error
stays if I comment out \usepackage{texpower}).

Maybe pdfscreen just doesn't work without the two commands
you commented out?

This looks like a very old distribution. What version of pdftex
are you using?

Works here (i just tried adding an \overlay command - no problem
viewing the background image).

Could you add a \listfiles command to the pdfscreen demo
and send me the log file?
